Many Turbochargers are built around a bearing and oil pressure profile much lower than is seen by modern & high-performance engines. Feeding these turbochargers the appropriate oil pressure has always been challenging. Traditional methods to limit oil pressure have been with a restrictor aimed at reducing pressure – However, this also reduces flow.
Turbosmart’s OPRt40 is a true regulator because a target oil pressure of 40psi can be achieved without compromising oil flow. This takes the guesswork out of the restrictor or feed and drain hose selection and ensures the oil going to the turbocharger never exceeds the manufacturer’s tolerances. This will provide you with rock-solid oil supply pressure within the manufactures tolerances.
