⚠️ TECHNICAL FITMENT NOTE: NS-2 vs. NS-3 FLUID
Do not mix fluid types. Nissan NS-3 fluid is generally required for 2013+ models equipped with CVT transmissions (Altima, Sentra, Rogue, Maxima, Pathfinder). Using the incorrect fluid or mixing NS-3 with older NS-2 fluid can lead to transmission shudder, belt slip, and internal damage. Always verify your owner's manual or the transmission dipstick for the correct fluid specification.
Capacity Guide: Is 6 Quarts Enough?
While a standard "drain and fill" typically requires 4 to 5.5 quarts, many Nissan CVT systems (specifically those in the Pathfinder, Maxima, and Quest) have a total dry capacity of 8.0 to 9.5 quarts.
